Portfolios > A God in the Hearth (a True Story)

2013 – 2017
Sometimes my work veers away from the imagined to tell a different kind of story, a more journalistic approach if you will, exploring our complex relationship with nature; the profound affect it has on us and that we have on it.

One such project began during a residency program in eastern Oregon at Playa, Summer Lake, OR. Over the course of four years it developed into a series of paintings exploring humanity’s deep connection to fire and its impact on the planet.

This project was on display at multiple venues across the state including Portland Community College, Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton and at the Art Center in Corvallis, OR (July 13 – August 21, 2017) and was accompanied by a printed catalog, made possible through a generous grant from the Oregon Arts Commission and the Ford Family Foundation.
